Discover the Rowdy Rascals Curriculum

Our Curriculum

At Rowdy Rascals, our curriculum is designed to ignite every child's lifelong passion for learning. Developed through years of research and experience, it blends traditional educational philosophies like Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia with innovative teaching methods to create a holistic learning environment.

Our approach emphasizes both structured activities and child-led exploration, allowing children to engage with the world around them in meaningful ways. Through hands-on experiences, creative play, and real-life learning opportunities, we nurture each child's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.

The cornerstone of our curriculum is the Taylor Method, a unique philosophy that adapts to each child's individual needs and interests, ensuring a personalized and enriching educational experience. Combining past and present academic practices, the Taylor Method fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in a supportive, nurturing environment.

At Rowdy Rascals, we focus on:

  • Real-life experiences that connect children to the world around them
  • Creative arts and imaginative play that encourage self-expression
  • Collaborative learning with peers, educators, and families
  • Guided independence that allows children to take ownership of their learning journey

Our curriculum ensures that every child develops essential skills like motor coordination, speech and language, literacy, mathematics, social interaction, and emotional growth—all while having fun and exploring their natural curiosity.

Our Teachers

At Rowdy Rascals, our teachers are more than just educators—they are passionate mentors who are deeply committed to nurturing the whole child. Every member of our teaching team brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and care to the classroom, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and guidance.

Our teachers are selected not only for their qualifications but also for their ability to connect with children in meaningful ways. They are trained in the Taylor Method, an approach that emphasizes child-led learning, creativity, and real-life experiences. With ongoing professional development, our teachers stay at the forefront of early childhood education, continually refining their skills to bring out the best in every student.

At Rowdy Rascals, our educators:

  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment where children feel confident to explore and express themselves.
  • Encourage curiosity and imagination, inspiring children to ask questions and seek answers through play and exploration.
  • Guide individualized learning experiences, recognizing that every child learns at their own pace and in their own unique way.
  • Work closely with families, understanding that a child’s education is most effective when there is strong communication and collaboration between home and school.

With a genuine love for teaching and a dedication to fostering growth, our teachers are the heart of the Rowdy Rascals experience. They are here to support your child every step of the way, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to succeed—not just in school, but in life.

What We Provide:

Communication with Parents:

We believe that open, transparent, and ongoing communication with parents is essential for creating a solid partnership and providing your child with the best care and education. We are committed to informing you about your child's daily experiences, progress, and any necessary updates regarding our facility. Below is an outline of how we will communicate with you throughout the year.

1. Daily Communication

  • Daily Reports:
You will receive a Daily Report at the end of each day detailing your child's activities, meals, nap times, and any significant events or milestones. This is an opportunity for you to stay connected with your child's day and know how they are progressing socially and emotionally.

  • Pick-Up Chats:
Teachers are available for brief check-ins during pick-up time. If there's anything specific you'd like to know about your child's day or if we have any important observations to share, we will contact you directly at the end of the day.

  • Parent Communication App:
We use a parent communication app called Brightwheel that allows you to receive real-time updates and photos of your child's day. Through this app, we can also send reminders and important announcements.

2. Scheduled Parent-Teacher Communication

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Three times a year, we hold formal Parent-Teacher Conferences to discuss your child's developmental progress, strengths, and areas for growth. These conferences are an opportunity to review your child's achievements and collaborate on ways to support their continued development both at home and at the facility.

  • Developmental Milestone Updates:
As part of our commitment to your child's growth, we will regularly assess their progress in key developmental areas, such as cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. You will receive updates on these milestones during the year, and we are always available to discuss any questions or concerns.

3. Newsletters and Updates

  • Monthly Newsletters:
We will send out a newsletter each month highlighting important upcoming events, new classroom activities, reminders, and other center-wide announcements. The newsletter is a great way to stay informed about what's happening at Rowdy Rascals.

  • Classroom Updates:
Individual classrooms may also send updates specific to their class, such as upcoming field trips, special projects, or curriculum themes for the month. These updates will be sent via email or the parent communication app.

4. Emergency Communication

  • Emergency Notifications:
In the event of an emergency, such as a facility closure, inclement weather, or other urgent matters, you will be notified immediately through our emergency communication channels (phone, text, or app notifications). Please ensure that the front office has your contact information up to date so we can reach you promptly.

  • Illness or Injury:
We will contact you immediately if your child becomes ill or injured during the day. We expect parents to be reachable in case of emergencies. We will contact your designated emergency contacts if you cannot be reached.

5. Parent Involvement and Feedback

  • Open Door Policy:
We have an open-door policy and welcome parents to visit the facility at any time to observe or participate in their child's day.      Please check with your child's teacher or the director for scheduled visits or volunteer opportunities.

  • Parent Feedback:
Your feedback is important to us! If you have any concerns, suggestions, or questions about your child's experience or our facility, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the director. We are committed to working together to ensure your child's success and happiness.

  • Surveys and Feedback Forms:
Periodically, we will send out parent surveys to gather feedback on our programs, staff, and operations. Your responses help us improve and tailor our services to meet your family's needs.

6. Meetings and Special Events

  • Parent Meetings:
If our policies, curriculum, or other important matters significantly change, we may schedule parent meetings to ensure open communication. These meetings provide a space for parents to ask questions, share concerns, and stay informed.

  • Special Events and Parent Involvement:
We host special events throughout the year, such as family picnics, holiday celebrations, and parent workshops. These events provide an opportunity to connect with other families and staff, fostering a sense of community at Rowdy Rascals. We encourage parents to attend and participate!
