Now verbalizing how much they are grown up and want to do anything and everything on their own, these Spicey Aloof Bears bravely begin to take on the world and everything it throws at them. Or should I say what they throw at it? Limits are tested hourly; consequences occur, and emotions fly high. Our angelic staff members for this class are built with patience and peace as they constantly redirect the kids to learn the causes and effects of their actions. The curriculum adds anger management skills and allows the children a safe place to learn how to express feelings. Potty training is routine, independent self-care is implemented, and learning is taken to a new level. Imaginative play allows the child to express themselves through design, and their understanding of math is heightened. Hand-strengthening activities begin to advance the future of writing and art. These scribblers are starting to form movement through art mediums with thought. Patterns are used at play, and the kids learn quickly that there can be any answers to solving a task. Sight words are introduced, and their ability to retain them is endless. Relationship building improves, and lifelong friendships get underway. Toddler Olympics begin in the fall testing to assess gross motor skills and set goals for the year. The kids have a blast during events as we open a new journey into competition and teamwork. Repetitiveness is critical in this stage of learning, and when the routine changes, the kids learn their ability to adapt quickly. Technological advancements are being made, and more extracurricular activities are being presented. The kids add in tech classes, library visits, science experiments, and even cooking classes. The gym is a favorite, and the kids show their skills in their tailored outside playground equipment, helping them to reach new limits. Ballet is taught to help teach balance and proper ways to fall gracefully to minimize injuries at play now and in the future. A class pet is introduced to practice care for creatures in the world around them. They also decide as a class what insect they would like to watch grow and release later in the year.
